Suggested Faculty Internship Timeline

6–9 months in advance: Begin to communicate with students about expectations about the internship course and acceptable placements. As students find internships, approve the experience for the internship course.
2–3 months before semester: Monitor registration and encourage students to seek internship placement early. Note: New student course registrations receive an email from the Career Center the week after they enroll.
1 month before: Encourage students to place in the S4 academic internship database (all students must place before they start their internship hours). Remind students about New Internship Partners Request deadline.
First Day of Class: Communicate with any students who remain unplaced.
Two Weeks After Start of Semester: After Add/Drop, students that remain unplaced will receive up to 3 warning emails.
One Month After Start: Unplaced students receive a soft hold on their account.
