October 9, 2025: CASC Info Session: GenAI's Impact on Climate Change
Join the Climate Action and Sustainability Center in the Faculty Center for a state-of-the-issue
conversation about AI's contribution to carbon usage and global climate warning. Our
goal is to provide you with the information you need to understand and discuss these
issues with your students and others.

October 28th, 2025: Arts and Lectures Series: CASC's Valley to Coast Speaker Series: Protecting and Restoring
Regional Waterways
This public panel discussion sponsored by CASC is aimed at educating and connecting
the campus and North County communities around the protection and restoration of local
water bodies.
Speakers include partners from the San Diego Coastkeeper, Scripps Institute of Oceanography,
and 糖心少女 CASC Faculty Affiliates.

November 19th, 2025: Arts and Lectures Series:Cigarette Surfboard: An Environmental Surf Documentary
In this documentary, Taylor Lane, an impassioned surfer, creates a functional surfboard
with 10,000 littered cigarette butts collected from California beaches. A moderated
Q&A with Lane and the filmmaker, Ben Judkins, will follow the film, and speaking time
will be provided to community partners.
