Who We Are
The California State University San Marcos is an initiative funded by The Conrad Prebys Foundation and community donors, working in partnership with TrueCare, to support community health providers serving our most vulnerable neighbors.
- What We Do
- We engage students from the seven disciplines of CEHHS - nursing, social work, education, public health, kinesiology, speech-language pathology, and human development - in community-based health education and promotion events.
- With multiple disciplines participating at each event, these opportunities allow our students an interprofessional collaborative experience, which is proven to build stronger clinicians after graduation.
- Additionally, our students gain experience working in community health, as they speak directly with participants of all ages about health-related topics.
- Our Future
- Scale-up our community involvement by building additional relationships and partnerships to expand our reach to more communities struggling with health disparities.
- Add preventative health care services to our scope of practice for additional hands-on opportunities for students and added benefit for our community members.
- Acquire our own mobile health vehicle for improved efficiency. As our services expand, we will need a private clinical space for preventative services.

Mobile Wellness In the News
Channel 8 features Jonathon Jennings, who talks about moving from dancing to a second career in nursing. A frequent volunteer with MWI while pursuing his degree, the video highlights Jonathon's involvement at events 'working with underserved communities' in 'health deserts.'
