Lecturer Committee

From the updated bylaws (May 2026):

The charge of the Lecturer Committee (LC) is to make recommendations to the Dean on issues related to Lecturer Faculty members, including the inclusion, equity, participation, and representation of Lecturer Faculty members in the University community.
LC shall work with college- and university-level partners to explore innovative professional development opportunities for lecturers, including new routes and strategies for lecturer advancement within ��Ů. This is in accordance with the ��Ů’s Strategic Plan (“The Power of ��Ů”) Goal 6.1, “Establish ��Ů’s reputation as a national leader in social mobility.”
LC shall coordinate, issue, and create action items related to the Annual Lecturer Survey; LC Chair will report survey results to and solicit questions from DO, CCC, and Dept. Chairs.
LC members will serve on other governance committees, providing lecturer perspectives on matters related to the college and the university
LC Chair shall call LC meetings and coordinate at least one meeting per year with Lecturer Committee (Faculty Senate) and “Super-LAC” (composed of college lecturer committees across ��Ů), focusing on policies and practices related to lecturers across campus.
LC shall coordinate with the Faculty Center Lecturer Liaison on lecturer-centered and lecturer-led workshops, lecturer professional development, social opportunities, etc.
The committee may work on ad hoc issues related to lecturers in college.
The Chair of the Lecturer Committee will be a voting member on CCC.
