CHABSS College Awards
College Awards Descriptions & Criteria
Each spring, the Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral, & Social Sciences hosts a special event to recognize exemplary undergraduate students graduating in CHABSS majors.
The Dean encourages faculty to recognize graduating students in each academic degree program for meritorious performance in one of four categories: Outstanding Student, Community Champion, Scholarship & Creative Works Champion, Inclusive Excellence Champion.
In the spring semester, the Dean calls for academic degree programs to forward the names of the students graduating within the academic year (Fall, Spring or Summer) whom they have recognized. All students recognized by their degree program will be individually recognized at the CHABSS Student Recognition Event. Additionally, the Dean will announce the four students selected for the college awards. All recognized students will receive a special certificate and memento from the dean at the event.
Nominations are due by March 15, 2026.
CHABSS Dean's Outstanding Student Award
The CHABSS Dean's Outstanding Student Award is the highest honor bestowed upon one undergraduate student of the College in the annual graduating class. The Dean's Outstanding Student Award winner is automatically nominated for the University's highest student award, the ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ® President's Outstanding Graduate Award.
CHABSS Community Champion Award
The CHABSS Community Champion Award recognizes a graduating student who is earning a µþ²¹³¦³ó±ð±ô´Ç°ù’s degree and has demonstrated outstanding achievements in service to the campus and/or greater community during their tenure at ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ®.
CHABSS Scholarship & Creative Works Champion Award
The CHABSS Scholarship & Creative Works Champion Award recognizes a graduating student who is earning a µþ²¹³¦³ó±ð±ô´Ç°ù’s degree and has demonstrated outstanding achievements in research and/or creative works during their tenure at ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ®.
CHABSS Inclusive Excellence Champion Award
The CHABSS Inclusive Excellence Champion Award recognizes a graduating student who is earning a µþ²¹³¦³ó±ð±ô´Ç°ù’s degree and has demonstrated outstanding achievements in advancing the College’s commitment to inclusive excellence, equity, and social justice during their tenure at ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ®.
