There is no rehearsal for Commencement. Graduate Information Sessions serve to provide information to graduates so that you know what to expect on the day of commencement. You may also want to share this information with your guests so that they are aware of the information. Please check this website for updated information prior to the ceremony.

Commencement Registration Questions

April 7, 10 a.m. 鈥 2 p.m.
(in front of the USU)

The Commencement Office will be available to answer questions regarding commencement registration in advance of the April 14 deadline.

Grad Portrait Opportunity - Graduates are invited to take professional portraits with DiFranco Photography. There is no sitting fee, and a cap, gown, and diploma cover will be provided. Photo proofs will be emailed within 24鈥36 hours.

Information Session Dates

April 21: In-Person Commencement Information Session
12 鈥 12:50 p.m.

Attend this session to learn more about the commencement ceremony and receive answers to commonly asked questions.


April 23: Commencement Information Session & Cap Decorating Event

Cap Decorating Event
12:30 鈥 3 p.m.

Join us for an information session followed by a cap decorating event. Supplies and workspace will be provided by the University Store. An RSVP link will be shared via email closer to the event.


May 1: Virtual Commencement Information Session
5:30 鈥 6:30 p.m.
Microsoft Teams

A virtual session option will be available for those unable to attend in person. The Teams link will be emailed to graduates in late April.

Graduate Check-in & Day of Timeline

Plan to arrive early to allow time for parking, ticket scanning, and security screening. Gates open one hour before the ceremony, and ticket scanning begins 90 minutes prior to the ceremony start time. Arriving early ensures a smooth check-in and gives you time to get settled before the ceremony begins.

Day of  Timeline for Graduates

鈴 60鈥90 min 鈥 Arrival & Check-In

  • Where: general entrance
  • What to do:  go through ticket scanning & security
  • Follow signage leading to the Baseball Field* for graduate check-in

馃晸 45 minutes 鈥 Get Ready

  • Hang out in the
  • Have StagePass in-hand. Make sure the info on your StagePass is correct.
  • Put on cap, gown, and tassel (hoods off for graduate students)
    • There are supplies in the dugout and staff to help you
  • Use restroom, hydrate, take photos

馃暉 30 minutes 鈥 Line-Up by Major

  • Locate your major and degree sign in the

馃晿 15 minutes 鈥 Final Prep

  • Line up with your major and degree in the
  • Have StagePass ready. Make sure the info on your StagePass is correct.

馃幎 Ceremony Start 鈥 Processional

  • The ceremony will start on time, rain or shine.
  • Follow Commencement staff directions and listen for announcements
  • Graduates will walk to Mangrum Track and Field gate 10 minutes prior to the ceremony start time to get ready for the processional into the track.
