Digital Content Remediation Project: Call for Applications "Faculty ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ® Training & Course Remediation"

Leaders: Monica Munoz and Mason Nuno

Overview
Project Timeline: March 2026- May 2026

Background & Purpose
Beginning April 26, 2026, Title II will require all digital content in learning management
systems to meet WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards. To support faculty in preparing their
courses, the Faculty Center and Academic Technology Services (ATS) team is launching a
training opportunity that will support faculty in learning about accessibility tools that can
be used to remediate their digital course content in Cougar Courses.

Faculty selected for this project will participate in a 5-week self-paced accessibility training
brought to you by WebAIM and will work to remediate their courses using the Ally
accessibility tool in Cougar Courses. The goal is to remediate at least one Spring 2026
course to reach at least 85% on the Ally Report, by May 1,2026, ensuring improved
accessibility for all students.

Participation Requirements & Stipend Eligibility

Faculty participants will receive up to $650 training stipend upon successful completion
of the following requirements:

Participants will receive $500 training stipend for successfully completing the
5-week self-paced WebAIM Accessible Document Training
o March 2, 2026-April 3, 2026 (Each week a new module will be available)
o Successful completion of the course requires: All module quiz scores are
100% (with unlimited retakes) and all module exam scores are 80% or better
(with one retake per exam). Faculty will need to submit certificate of
completion by May 1, 2026.

• Remediate course content in at least one Spring 2026 course to achieve at least
85% accessibility in the Ally course report for an additional $150 training stipend.
Spring 2026 courses that are currently not at 85% accessibility are eligible for
remediation; however, compensation will not increase if more than one course is
remediated.

Special Note: Stipend amount will not increase based on the number of courses
remediated. If all Spring 2026 courses are already at 85% accessibility or higher then
selected participants are not eligible for the additional $150 training stipend and are only
eligible for the $500 stipend for completing the WebAIM training by May 1, 2026.

• Faculty of all ranks from all colleges are welcome.
• Must have an active Unit 3 teaching appointment at ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ® in Spring 2026
