Employee of the Month
Employee of the Month winners are nominated by professional staff and their peers at the University Student Union for their exemplary service and voted on by a committee composed of Student Building Leads on a monthly basis.
Bianca
Bianca stands out because of her consistently strong work ethic and dedication to maintaining a clean, welcoming environment at the USU. She takes initiative without being asked and holds herself to a high standard in everything she does. Bianca puts exceptional care and effort into keeping spaces organized and presentable, going above and beyond with thorough cleaning and attention to detail. In addition to her operational contributions, Bianca demonstrates outstanding customer service. Her initiative, reliability, and genuine concern for both the workspace and the people we serve make her truly deserving of this recognition.
Dylan
Dylan consistently stands out for his strong work ethic and dedication to operations. He always goes above and beyond to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. His energy is contagious, as he shows up to every shift ready to work and support those around him. Dylan tackles tasks quickly and thoroughly, helping operations run smoothly even during busy U-hours or high-pressure moments. In addition to his reliability, he brings a friendly and positive attitude that makes him easy to work with. Dylan鈥檚 commitment, collaboration, and willingness to take initiative make him a valuable asset, and we are grateful to have him as part of our team.
Haley
Haley has shown that she is an incredibly reliable USU LIVE programmer and always shows up and executes her role on this team. Without being asked, Haley will make sure the events are being marketed, A-frames are up, and on top of that, personalizing her events each month for students with so much detail! Her creativity shines at her Commuter Breakfast program where she is not afraid to try new ideas and get creative. USU Live is extremely appreciative of what she offers and does for the team, promoting Live events around campus!
Lamar
Lamar always has such an amazing attitude whenever he walks into the building. His bubbly personality is contagious to others making him such a positive influence. His great energy makes him really easy to work with and his flexibility in working both at the info desk and operations is such a great asset to our team. No matter which position he is working, he's always great at communicating with his coworkers and taking initiave to make sure all of the daily tasks are getting completed and that the building is looking great. We are thankful to have Lamar on our USU team!
Haimi
Haimi consistently exceeds expectations at the Info Desk. She seeks out additional responsibilities and demonstrates strong problem鈥憇olving skills whenever challenges arise. Her communication with her supervisor and coordinator is clear, timely, and thoughtful. Over time, she has grown remarkably as a leader, supporting newer hires with practical guidance on building upkeep and effective time management. She is a reliable team player who willingly helps USU Operations whenever they need help. She is cross-trained in other positions and is always open to learn. Haimi delivers excellent customer service and consistently leads with empathy, compassion, and professionalism.
Bret
Bret stands out for his exceptional work ethic and positive attitude. He鈥檚 always proactive, asking what tasks he can complete next, and keeping operations running smoothly. His attention to detail and willingness to learn make him a valuable team member. Bret also shows strong leadership potential by supporting colleagues, answering questions, and fostering a collaborative work environment. We鈥檙e proud to recognize Bret for his dedication and contributions to the USU!
Kaylee
Aracely
Aracely consistently demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative spirit that makes her an invaluable member of our team. She takes great pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment in the USU and is always willing to step in to support her peers, whether by covering shifts, assisting with tasks, or problem solving and fixing an issue. Her communication skills are strong, and she regularly goes above and beyond expectations. Aracely has shown tremendous initiative by stepping into unfamiliar situations with confidence and a willingness to learn. She has cross-trained in multiple roles, developed new skills, and even represented the USU by tabling and engaging with new students and families. Her leadership, adaptability, and commitment to the student experience make her highly deserving of this recognition.
Zachary
Zach is always the first one through the doors, arriving early to ensure everything is set up and he鈥檚 the last to leave鈥攖idying up, checking in with others, and making sure no one needs a hand before he heads out. Whether welcoming a first-time visitor to the Activity Center or reconnecting with a longtime regular, he greets everyone with warmth and genuine enthusiasm. His energy, kindness, and commitment to building community elevate the entire atmosphere鈥攁nd we鈥檙e incredibly lucky to have him on our team!
