Application Deadlines

Applications to the Bachelor of Arts in Sociology program are reviewed on a rolling basis; apply at any time! However, priority is given to applications that are received by the following deadlines: 

  • Fall I 2026: July 29, 2026
  • Fall II 2026: Sept. 16, 2026
  • Spring I 2027: Aug. 5, 2026
  • Spring II 2027: Feb. 3, 2027

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the online BA in Sociology program you must complete the requirements listed below. 

  • General Requirements
    • 60 transferable semester college units (or 90 quarter units) to be eligible for admission, including the prerequisite courses below.
    • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA in all transferable units attempted
    • 2.5 GPA for students who have already completed a bachelor鈥檚 degree
    • Must reside in an approved state 
  • Prerequisites
    • Successful completion of the following courses with a 鈥淐-鈥 or better (12 units)
        • Oral Communication (A1)
        • Written Communication (A2)
        • Critical Thinking (A3)
        • Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning (B4)
    • Completion of SOC 101 and 201

The sociology bachelor's degree program is eligible for financial aid.

Federal VA educational benefits can be used for this program (not eligible for Cal Vet fee waiver).

Please note: Students who start programs during the summer term are ineligible to receive funding through Cal Grant.
