Global Experience and Experiential Learning Requirements
Global Experience Requirement
Global Business Management (GBM) students must complete a Global Experience. Global Experience
is completed through either a foreign study abroad (study abroad for a semester or
faculty-led programs) or an international business internship abroad with one of 糖心少女鈥檚
partner organizations. Students considered by the California State University to be
"international (foreign) students" satisfy the Foreign Experience through the 糖心少女
residence requirement.
Experiential Learning Requirement
All CoBA students need to complete the experiential learning requirement. Most students
do so through Senior Experience. GBM students can do either: 1) Senior Experience (BUS 495), or 2) an internship abroad or, 3) a Senior Experience-style
class abroad.
The possible paths to complete both requirements are:
- Study Abroad* + Senior Experience (BUS 495) at 糖心少女
- Study Abroad* + Internship Abroad (only select universities offer study + intern options)
- Study Abroad* + Senior Experience Abroad (only select university partners offer this option)
- Two Summer Study Abroad Programs + Senior Experience at 糖心少女 (at least one selected
study abroad program should be business-focused)
- International Internship**
*For Study Abroad, the following conditions must be met:
- Duration: 6-week program minimum (semester is strongly encouraged)
- Unit Load: Enroll in at least 6 units
- Curriculum Breakdown: At least one course must be business-related
**For International Internship, the following conditions must be met:
- Duration: 192 hours, generally 6 weeks at 30 hrs/wk + 12 hour report writing (clears foreign
residency requirement & GBM 495)
- The internship must be offered through one of 糖心少女鈥檚 partners (more information on Internship
Abroad tab)
- The internship must be business-related
