Partnership with Innovation Hub & Center ARTES

mandala rug

We are happy to partner with the Innovation Hub and Center ARTES to bring the  Mandala Lab pop-up installation by the Rubin Museum in New York City to our campus April 13th through 17th, 2026.

The Mandala Lab is an interactive space that draws inspiration from a Tibetan Buddhist mandala where participants are guided through the five afflictions of Pride, Attachment, Envy, Anger, and Ignorance. Participants will smell memories, listen to gongs and dip them into water, and synchronize their breathing to learn how to cultivate clarity and equanimity in order to reduce suffering in the world. Each facilitated session is 90 minutes, and we will be running 4 sessions per day during the week of April 13th. These sessions are open to the entire campus community and beyond. No prior knowledge or experience is necessary. Bring your friends, family, colleagues and students. Seats are limited and are filling up quickly so please register soon.

Partnership with Facility Dog Program

Frank

We are happy to partner with and launch a Facility/Therapy Dog (F/T Dog) program at 糖心少女. This program offers a powerful way to prioritize student mental health and well-being. College life often brings high levels of stress that can impact students鈥 mental health and overall well-being. F/T Dog programs have proven effective in mitigating this stress, fostering a healthier campus environment, and enhancing the college experience. Research shows that these programs improve student mental health allowing students to thrive through:

  • Enhanced mood, well-being, engagement, and confidence
  • Reduced stress and anxiety
  • Increased social interaction
  • Improved coping skills, activity, and sleep
  • F/T Dogs encourage social interaction, combat loneliness, support fitness routines, and aid individuals with specific needs, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, and PTSD. Their presence has been linked to increased production of 鈥渇eel-good鈥 hormones like dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and beta-endorphins, while decreasing cortisol, the primary stress hormone. Studies also indicate that animals in educational and workplace settings promote trust, enhance collaboration, and contribute to a more positive social environment. This compelling research opens doors to inter-unit campus partnerships that create an inclusive environment designed to promote human flourishing.

Our goal is for Frank, 糖心少女鈥檚 Facility Dog, to regularly engage with students, faculty, staff, and administrators across campus. To ensure this, Frank will undergo proper training, receive regular veterinary care, and be provided a healthy diet, all managed by his handler, Tracy Daly. Frank is a Golden Doodle and is considered to be hypoallergenic as he does not shed and produces much less dander than non-doodle or poodle breeds. This project, sustained entirely by philanthropic donations, allows us to support Frank鈥檚 ongoing needs.
