Dance Studies

The Dance Studies Program at CSU San Marcos is committed to offering students an understanding of contemporary dance practice and performance within an ever-changing social and political context. Through collaborative and community-based projects, students gain an appreciation and respect for diversity and inclusivity through embodied learning. Students can pursue a Minor in Dance Studies or design a Special Major, which can include a dance/performance component in conjunction with another discipline.

Spring Dance Concert
April 30, 2026 and May 1, 2026

One Space/Many Stories: Collaborative Dance Works brings together student and professional artists for an evening of bold, collaborative performance. Directed by Cherie Hill, this concert explores what happens when we share space鈥攑hysically, creatively, and emotionally.

As dancers, musicians, and choreographers intertwine their voices, boundaries blur and new connections emerge. In a time that calls for greater empathy and understanding, these works reveal the beauty, tension, and possibility of creating together.

Join us for a powerful evening of movement that invites you to witness what can unfold when stories meet and space is shared.

Featuring student choreographers and performers: Oriana Allen, Melia Glass, Victoria Mais, Aubrey Matlock, Tay Meadows, Sophia Miller, Jayla Powell, Jessica Quezada, Pike Steck, Elena Vesovich, and Katelin Wagner.

Guest choreographers Daunt茅 Fyall and Safos Dance Theatre, and compositions by Zane Shrem-Besnoy.
