Off-Campus Mental Health and Support Services

  • (844-582-2111) is a free, confidential app for students 13-25 years sponsored by the Dept of Healthcare Services in CA. You can talk with a "telecoach" (community health worker, peer specialist, substance misuse counselor or behavioral health professional) between 10am-10pm for 5 minutes up to 40 minutes, available in 19 different languages. Their app also has helpful ways to monitor your moods, improve your mental health, and connect you with helpful local resources. No insurance, no session limits, no fees.

  • offers Therapy for All where you can attend up to 15 sessions for FREE with interns (ASW/AMFT) then $40 per session after that.

Caregiver and Grief Support

This is a partnership between Elizabeth Hospice and 糖心少女 for our 糖心少女 community members and families. Register and join for one session or the full series starting April- December 2025 in Escondido. Dinner provided.

Health-Related Insurance and Assistance

  • Students can apply for food, cash, and health coverage benefits. Get . A county representative is available on Tuesdays from 10am-2pm at the ASI Cougar Pantry and virtually on Wednesdays.

  • : Provides San Diego County residents, who have any type of cancer which impairs their mental and/or physical capacity to prepare food, with free meals. 
  • : Provides help (such as lodging in Temecula Valley, food, support, etc) for those who need to be away from home while their loved ones are hospitalized.

Low-Cost Medical Clinics

All offer primary care, mental health, dental, & more. They accept Medi-Cal & have a low income sliding fee scale for those without insurance. Telehealth appointments also available.

  • is located primarily in southern San Diego. Also offers substance abuse aid; mental health wait may be 3-4 months.
  • is located in Vista, Oceanside, & Lake Elsinore. Also offers optometry. Doctor visits start at $40. Dental can range $50-$100 but they do not offer crowns, implants, root canals, or braces. They offer limited extractions. Call (844) 308-5003 to make an appointment in English or Spanish.  

Disability Assistance

  • is a statewide program that helps children and young adults under 21 years of age who have certain physical limitations, chronic health conditions or diseases. They may be able to help with medical services and equipment, if you qualify.

  • - The IHSS Program provides funding to elderly or disabled Californians to pay for services to take place in their personal homes or places of residence (i.e., payment for family caregivers, adjustments to the home, etc.). State policymakers designed the program to prevent the unnecessary placement of individuals in Medicaid (Medi-Cal) funded nursing homes.

For DISABILITY/PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT/TESTING (such as ADHD/Autism/NeuroPsych evaluations) to assist with class accommodations at 糖心少女, etc.:

Be aware that psychological testing can be costly and some students consider seeking help from the 糖心少女 SHCS Health Assistance Fund.
