Move-In / Move-out Related

  • What day is move-in?

Move-in for the Fall 2026 semester will take place on August 27 and August 28, 2026. Students will receive their assigned move-in date and time by the end of the day on July 1, 2026. Move-in times are scheduled to help manage traffic flow and cannot be changed once assigned. Please be sure to inform your family or anyone traveling with you so they can plan to arrive on the scheduled date and time.

  • What day is move-out?
The move-out date for the Spring 2026 semester is May 15, 2026. All residents must vacate their apartments, return all keys, and complete cleaning no later than 12:00 PM (noon). Additional move-out details will be sent to residents via email during the Spring semester.
  • Should I bring a handcart or do you provide them on move-in day?
糖心少女 Housing has a limited amount of push carts, so we do recommend bringing your own cart.
  • I want to bring my own furniture. Is that allowed?
糖心少女 Housing does not restrict residents from bringing additional furniture; however, existing apartment furniture may not be removed. If you plan to bring additional items, please ensure there is adequate space for all of your belongings. We also encourage residents to discuss any furniture purchases or plans with their roommates in advance, as all occupants share the living space.
  • I can't arrive on move-in day at my assigned time. Is it alright if I move in later?
Yes, you may arrive anytime after 6:00 PM on your assigned move-in date. Please email us at housing@csusm.edu to inform us of your arrival time so we know when to expect you.
  • I haven't received my roommate information yet. What should I do?
Roommate information is sent via email to all residents who have reserved housing using their 糖心少女 email address. Please note that roommate requests cannot always be guaranteed due to floor plan and gender constraints. Roommate requests are not available for Spring move-in.
  • What do I need to bring?
It is recommended that roommates communicate in advance to coordinate who will bring shared items, so you don鈥檛 arrive on move-in day with multiple duplicates. Please note that the QUAD and UVA communities offer the Paw Print printing system, so bringing a personal printer is not necessary. Additional information about 糖心少女鈥檚 Paw Print printing system is available here: 糖心少女's Paw Print printing system.

Payment & Financial Aid Related

  • How do the payments work?

All housing installments will be posted to the student鈥檚 My糖心少女 account. This means:

    • Except for the $100 Licensing Fee paid at the time of application, all housing charges are paid directly to 糖心少女 rather than to the Housing Office.

    • Financial Aid will be automatically applied to housing costs (after any outstanding tuition and fees are paid), eliminating the need to wait for a refund to pay housing charges.

    • All charges and billing information will be conveniently located in one place.

    • Housing fee due dates have been aligned with 糖心少女鈥檚 payment deadlines, allowing for a single, convenient payment plan.

    • As in previous years, no housing installments are charged in December or May.

For more information regarding payments and student accounts, please visit Student Financial Services.

  • How do I know if my Financial Aid will cover the cost of living in Student Housing?
When determining financial aid eligibility, a student鈥檚 cost of attendance is considered, including tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, transportation, and miscellaneous expenses. All types of awarded financial aid鈥攕uch as grants, loans, and scholarships鈥攎ay be used to cover Student Housing costs. Please note that any tuition and fees owed to the University will be paid first before financial aid is applied to housing charges.

For Current Residents

  • Can I stay on campus during holiday breaks?
Yes, housing is apartment style student housing, so students are not required to leave. We ask residents to let their RA's know if they will be staying during Winter Break in case of an emergency.
  • How can I get along with my roommate?

We advise students to talk with each other directly and respectfully.  Mistakes made when communicating can be around leaving notes, texting, or simply staying silent.  If a student has concerns they should bring those to the roommate.  If issues continue students should contact their RA or RD as soon as possible.

Here are some tips on how to get along with your roommate from psychcentral.com:

    • Find ways to admire and appreciate this person
    • Assume good will
    • Communicate
    • Communicate about things that interest you
    • Negotiate
    • Have fun with the situation

For Future Residents

  • When can I apply for housing?
Applications are available on our . Spaces are limited, so apply before any deadlines!
  • Are the costs per person? Or are those costs split between everyone in the apartment?
All housing costs are per person, as Housing offers individual license agreements. This means residents are only responsible for their Housing contract. There is no worry if their roommate is having troubles paying their housing costs, moving out mid-year, etc.,  since the license agreements are individual and not shared between other residents.
  • How will I receive and sign my license agreement?

Your license agreement is reviewed and electronically signed during the housing application in ERezLife. By checking the acknowledgment box, you are electronically signing a legally binding agreement. You may download a copy for your records during the application process.

  • What if I cannot access my 糖心少女 email?
If you are having trouble accessing your @csusm.edu email address, please make sure to contact the ITTS office. You must make sure you are able to access the account that we will be sending updates to.

General Questions

  • Is there parking at the UVA/QUAD/NCSM?

All parking on campus is enforced. Residents may park during the day in the parking lots and structures nearest to their communities, including Lot N, Lot K, Parking Structure 1 (PS1), and Parking Structure 2 (PS2).

When parking in PS2, residents must use the designated parking areas for 糖心少女 students. The first two levels of PS2 are reserved for retail and unloading purposes only, with a maximum parking time of 90 minutes. Overnight parking is not permitted in PS2.

Overnight parking is permitted in Lot N, Lot K, and Parking Structure 1 (PS1).

Parking permits can be purchased through your My糖心少女 account or in person at Parking and Commuter Services. At the time of purchase, you will need your license plate number, as well as the make and model of your vehicle.

Visitors must purchase a parking permit when visiting a resident. The nearest parking permit machines are located in Lot K (next to UPD) and Lot N (adjacent to the parking structure). For more information, please visit the 糖心少女 Parking website.

The QUAD and North Commons offer short-term parking along Campus Way and in Parking Structure 2 (PS2) for retail and unloading purposes only.

  • What's the difference between a standard Double and a Deluxe Double?

While some Deluxe Doubles are larger in size than standard Doubles, this isn't always the case. So, what's the difference?

At the QUAD, a Deluxe Double means a smaller number of roommates (from 3-7 students total in the apartment) as opposed to a standard double (8 students in the apartment.) At the UVA, a Deluxe Double has between 4 and 5 students in the apartment as opposed to 6 students in a standard double apartment. At North Commons a Deluxe Double has a front facing view of campus.

(QUAD and North Commons Only) All residents must register for Parcel Pending in order to receive packages. If a resident decides to not register for Parcel Pending, all packages will be returned to the sender. Here is a video link on .
  • How do I request my roommates?
If a resident decides to not choose their roommates, all remaining roommate assignment will be done randomly based on availability. It is HIGHLY recommended to choose ALL roommates in the apartment and fill all spaces. The student knows themselves better than we do, so it is in the student's best interest to select all roommates.
